The game is available across a number of different devices and players who are keen to test the game prior to placing real money on the slot have the option of being able to find and test a Battle Royal Free Play version as well.

Gameplay

Battle Royal is a video slot with five reels, three rows and 20 fixed pay lines.

Play n’ Go have managed to keep things incredibly simple with their gameplay experience. Players can play the slot game from as little as 0.20¢ whereas bets go up to a maximum of $100 per spin. Autoplay is also available via a button on the game panel for those who are happy to see the reels spin automatically without interruption.

Battle Royal has ten normal payout symbols. The royal cards – clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades – can be found on the low level, while the six wives are premium symbols. King Henry VIII himself is a wild symbol. All premium symbols and the king symbol appear continuously in the stack. Payouts for a five vary from 2x to 30x the stake. The Coat of Arms symbol, which is the slot games scatter, only appears on the first and fifth reels.

Feature Bonuses

There are a number of Battle Royal bonus game features that make this Henry VIII inspired title all the more exciting, although his six wives may not have been too grateful for some of them!

The battle in this Play’n Go slot starts with a random function, which can be triggered in any spin of the base game. All low-paid card royals will be converted into common pay symbols, which provides more potential for big wins.

Land the scatter symbols on the first and fifth reels and the bonus game selector will be triggered. Players can choose between two games: Heads Will Roll Free Spins or Long Live The King Pick-and-Click bonus games.

Heads Will Roll Free Spins starts with the player choosing one of the six wives they think will be the last survivor. In the beginning, all the wives were still alive happily, but the guillotine at the top of each reel indicated that everything would change.

With each spin, one guillotine will fall and will behead the wife’s figure if at least the top of the symbol is visible on the same reel. The decapitated wife will turn into a stacked wild for the remainder of the round. The free spins continue until only one of the six wives is left alive. The player will now receive an additional coin reward if he chose the remaining wife at the start of the free spins.

Then, players will decide the fate of the last surviving wife by placing her on one of the five reels. One of the five guillotines will be randomly selected to drop. The round ends if the wife is not beheaded. Otherwise, you will enter the Long Live The King bonus game.

The bonus game is triggered by the selector or as a follow-up feature of the free spin round. The king is locked in a haunted dungeon with six treasure chests, each containing coins and possibly an escape key. Choose one chest at a time to help the king collect extra treasure and escape from the dungeon.

Finding the key will provide an instant escape from the dungeon, as well as a multiple of the total winnings from the bonus game. If the game is entered after a free spin, the multiplier will also be applied to the free spin winnings.

RTP (return to player)

A return to player rate of 96.56% has been set by Play n’ Go on this Battle Royal slot game, which is rather standard for the Swedish developer when compared to many of their other titles. Nonetheless, it is a rate that Henry VIII would be more than happy with!
