Players will be able to go on an adventure in the Mayan era with Play ‘N Go’s Contact slot game offering. For those that do not know about the Mayans, they were part of a historical civilisation of indigenous people of Mexico and Central America who have continuously inhabited the lands comprising modern-day Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Campeche, Tabasco, and Chiapas in Mexico and southward through Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador and Honduras.
Our Contact slot game review will take players on this journey with the people of Mesoamerica and will provide all the key pieces of information that bettors need to ensure they have every chance of earning rewards on this virtual trip through one of history’s most ancient civilisations.
Gameplay
Play N’ Go have opted to go away from the traditional realms of slot game formats with this particular offering. The Swedish developers have produced a slot that boasts a 5×7 grid, however there are no paylines available for players to form wins on. Instead, players will be able to form at least five matching symbols in a cluster pays format.
Bets can range from as little as $0.20 per spin for those that do not want to spend loads, whereas those high-rollers amongst us can place wagers as high as $100 per spin. The game has all the traditional buttons available on a game panel across the bottom, with ‘AutoPlay’ and ‘Spin’ buttons both available in the bottom right corner next to the bet values. These are also available on the Contact Slot Free Play version as well for those who wish to test the game.
Fitting in with the Mayan theme, there are a number of different symbols available for players to collect. The low-value icons are stone-carved animal fossils that are represented by snakes, monkeys, jaguars and turtles. These icons are then followed by the four Mayan God masks which come in green, gold-green, red and purple colours.
There are no Wilds or Scatters in this Contact slot game, however there are still some bonus features that players can trigger. These are explained below.
Feature Bonuses
As mentioned earlier in our Contact slot game review, the game follows a cluster pays format. Therefore, players who can fill rows two, four and six on the grid with matching symbols will receive a multiplier of 2x, 3x and 4x. The highest multiplier available will be applied, though – not all three combining, for example.
Despite the lack of Wilds and Scatters, Play ‘N Go have still managed to implement a free spins feature. This is known as the ‘Super Bonus Round’ and is activated when winning symbols reach the tower’s top on at least one of the reels.
The round will consist of three free spins and will provide players with multipliers of x2, x3, x4 and x5 if the symbols feel up row two, three, five and six. The selection of extras that are found on the right tower will be triggered if rows one, four and seven are filled.
The ‘Block Destroyer’ feature is another handy feature that has been introduced in this Contact slot game. This bonus will destroy the bottom multiplier blocks on the left, allowing for a bigger multiplier to drop down to the bottom row to potentially provide bigger wins. The ‘Symbol Upgrade’ feature will turn winning combinations into the next highest values, whereas the ‘Extra Free Spins’ feature will provide players with an additional free spin.
If the grid fills up with different symbol clusters in the Bonus Round, it will trigger the ‘Super Bonus Round’ with six free spins. The multipliers will increase for each row filled with a winning combination, whilst players receive the three features already mentioned as well.
The features are altered slightly, though, as the ‘Block Destroyer’ will demolish the bottom three rows instead of the one; the ‘Symbol Upgrade’ will now include the top symbols whereas three free spins will be awarded!
RTP (return to player)
Contact slot game is a high variance slot, which means there could be some time between wins, however the possibility of hitting big wins is greater. Play ‘N Go have set the return to player (RTP) rate to 96.55%.
