Greek Mythology has always been a hugely popular theme to take inspiration from for a number of different companies in various businesses and slot game developers are no different to others in drawing from the era.
Play ‘N Go have certainly taken some inspiration from the era with their Ancient Greek Rise of Olympus slot game as they have included a number of the famous Greek Gods in this exciting slot game.
We had plenty of fun playing this slot and it was a joy to complete our Rise of Olympus review for readers to know what to expect from the powerful Gods when taking on the reels.
Gameplay
Rise of Olympus is a 5×5 slot machine game, in which players aim to try and match three or more symbols horizontally or vertically in order to win. Each spin can be powered by bets from as little as $0.20, with betting possible to maximum to $100.
Naturally, there are a number of Rise of Olympus Free Play version games available for bettors to test out before placing wagers with real money and the demo play can be a great way to get used to the layout that Play ‘N Go utilises.
Indeed, players familiar with the industry-leading developer will know what to expect already in regards to the gameplay experience, however it is worth noting for newbies that there is an ‘Autoplay’ button that allows for the reels to be spun uninterrupted for a set number of spins.
Symbols, as expected, represent the Ancient Greek times that the game has taken inspiration from, with Mount Olympus being used as the backdrop to further add to the setting. Hades, Poseidon and Zues all feature on the reels as do icons that represent each God – helmets, tridents and bolts. There are also harps and Pegasus’ gold coin – which represents the Wild. This symbol is the most valuable as it can provide payouts of up to 50x the bet for five-of-a-kind, whereas it also has the magical ability to substitute all other symbols.
Feature bonuses
Naturally, there are a number of bonus features that take this Rise of Olympus slot game to a whole new level and players will love what we were able to uncover!
The first feature of note is the ‘Hand of God’ feature and this is randomly triggered when a spin does not provide any wins. However, the rewards depend on what God is showing on the right hand side of the grid at the time:
- Hades – 1 set of symbols is chosen and transformed into another symbol
- Poseidon – 1 or 2 wild symbols are added to the grid
- Zeus – 2 sets of symbols are destroyed and removed from the grid which allows new symbols to appear
The next bonus feature is the ‘Wrath of Olympus’ round, which is played when the meter is filled up by winning combinations formed by the God symbols. Three sections of the meter will be filled if 5-of-a-kind are landed, whereas two and one section are filled with combinations of four and three respectively.
When the meter becomes full, players will be awarded with one free spin and the ‘Hand of God’ feature will then play out in consecutive turns. Wilds can be added to the reels in this round, whilst other symbols will transform.
If the whole grid is cleared of symbols, players will activate the Free Spins feature in which they will have the choice to choose which God they want to pick. Hades awards four free spins, whereas Poseidon and Zeus hand out five and eight respectively and the ‘Hand of God’ feature that each God has will also be activated.
If the meter continues to be filled up in this bonus game, players will be awarded with even more free spins. Hades provides the most this time with four, whereas Poseidon and Zeus award three and two respectively. There is a limit of 20 free spins available, but if players can clear the grid, then they will receive an instant reward of 100x the bet!
Return to Player rate (RTP)?
