A professional American football team, the Baltimore Ravens are a franchise that is located in the Maryland region, with the team playing its home games at the M&T Bank Stadium. The franchise competes in the AFC North division and regularly goes up against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Owned by Steve Bisciotti, the team is ranked and valued as one of the most valuable teams in all of sports, thus highlighting just why the Baltimore Ravens are considered to be one of the top teams in the whole of the NFL.

The history of the Baltimore Ravens is one of the most interesting in the NFL, with the team having only been established in 1996 amid controversy. The onwer at the time, Art Modell, was the owner of the Cleveland Browns but had wanted to relocate his team to Baltimore but was refused.

However, as part of a settlement between the league and the city of Cleveland, Modell was required to leave the Browns’ history, team colors and records in Cleveland and start afresh in Baltimore. They would then start up and play in their first NFL season as the Baltimore Ravens in 1999 as an expansion team.

Since its inception as an expansion team, the Baltimore Ravens has been one of the most successful teams to have ever competed in the NFL. Those that have followed the Baltimore Ravens jersey will have seen the team qualify for the NFL playoffs 13 times since 2000 with two Super Bowl championship titles (Super Bowl XXXV and Super Bowl XLVII), two AFC Championship titles (2000 and 2012), four AFC Championship game appearances (2000, 2008, 2011 and 2012) and six AFC North division titles (2003, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2018, and 2019) as of the 2020 NFL season. Furthermore, they are one of two teams to be undefeated in multiple Super Bowl appearances, along with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
