Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills is an NFL franchise that currently competes within the AFC East division and are one of the top teams currently in the entire league. Check out all you need to know about the team, such as the Buffalo Bills stadium and why the team is amongst one of the best in the league.

Background

As already highlighted, the Buffalo Bills play each of their games in the AFC East Divison, where they regularly compete with the New England Patriots, New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins. The team are currently located in the Buffalo metropolitan area, with the Buffalo Bills stadium being the Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York.

Currently guided by Scott McDermott as its head coach, the team is owned by Terry and Kim Pegula, who bought it in 2014 after the original owner, Ralph Wilson died in 2014.

History

The Bills were founded in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League (AFL), but they joined the NFL in 1970 following the AFL–NFL merger and have been a major player across a large number of years.

However, things have not always gone the franchise’s way since they joined the NFL. The team were perennial postseason contenders between the late 1980s and 1990s, however between 2000 and 2016, they were the only team not to reach the postseason and endured the longest playoff drought of any team within the entire American sports scene.

One of the team’s greatest achievements, though, was between 1990 and 1993, when they were able to appear in a record four consecutive Super Bowls, but they did lose in each game.

Honors

Indeed, wearing the Buffalo Bills jersey has been something that has been rather hard throughout the team’s history, as the team have had some rather mixed fortunes when taking to the gridiron. As mentioned, they managed to reach four consecutive Super Bowls, but were beaten in each one.

They then suffered the longest drought in American sports history as they did not reach a playoff game between 2000 and 2016, however the team has not looked back since as they regularly make an appearance in the modern era.

Buffalo Bills roster and Iconic Players

When taking a look at the current Buffalo Bills roster, it is hardly a surprise to see the franchise continue to compete with the best teams in the league consistently. As of the 2021 NFL season, the team has been led by quarterback Josh Allen, who has been proving himself to be one of the best in the position over recent seasons, whilst he has experienced players around him making his job slightly easier, especially if the Buffalo Bills injury report looks a little concerning at times.

Additionally, those to have worn the Buffalo Bills logo in the past have included O.J. Simpson, Jim Kelly, Bruce Smith, Andre Reed and Terrell Owens, with each of them having represented the Buffalo Bills jersey in esteem fashion.

Summary

For all of the misfortune and difficulties to have been faced in the past, the Buffalo Bills certainly look a lot better than they have ever looked before, which is why so many continue to like what the AFC East franchise is doing and why so many continue to look out for them.
