Background

The Houston Texans is another of the handful of teams that are currently based in Texas, with the team currently residing in Houston. The Houston Texans’ Stadium is the NRG Stadium, which is where they continue to play all of their home games and have done so since 2002 when they entered the league.

The team is currently owned by Janice McNair, after she took over from her late husband, Bob McNair who had owned the team from 1999 until 2018.

The Houston Texans logo is a depiction of a bull, and has been designed to show the animal, as well as a way to resemble the flag of Texas and the state of Texas. The Houston Texans’ jersey features this logo, as well as being colored predominantly blue, with red and white trim.

History

The creation of the Houston Texans came from the NFL’s desire to expand the league to 32 teams, which is why the team is the newest to be involved in the competition at a professional level. The team joined the league in the 2002 season and has continued to be a regular fixture within the sport.

The Texans would go on to replace the Houston Oilers who had played in the city from 1960 to 1996 before making a switch to Nashville and deciding to change their name to the Tennessee Titans.

Honors

Despite being one of the newest franchises to be competing in the NFL, the Houston Texans have managed to create some success for themselves in its short history thus far. Admittedly, things were a struggle to begin with, as the team found its first decade in the league rather challenging, but they have since started to show some rather consistent performances.

The first time the Houston Texans managed to find success was in the 2011 season when they managed to win their first division championship and claim their first playoff berth. Since then, success has continued to follow at a steady rate, as they have won the AFC South Championship no fewer than six times, although as of the 2021 Season, they still remain the only team to have never appeared in the Conference Championship Game.

Houston Texans Roster

The Houston Texans roster has featured a number of talented players throughout the years, with individuals such as J.J. Watt, Andre Johnson and Ed Reed having to go down as some of the biggest names to have played for the franchise.

As the team continues to establish itself, more and more brilliant players will join the team, thus making any potential Houston Texans injury report to be created being one that will always be rather fearful.

Summary

The Houston Texans are a team that appears to be going places and one that will continue to look to try and become a solid NFL franchise in the future. Backing this team will be at the risk of the bettor, but there are reasons to feel confident at times with what the Texans do on the field.
